A Film by Felderstein
Todd Felderstein is a Los Angeles-based director, writer, and producer working at the intersection of film, theatre, and new media. He is currently the Artist-in-Residence at the Actors Studio West where he is a member of the Directing and Play Development Unit.
With a strong foundation in story, Todd’s work spans stage and screen. His directing credits include the recent WAY OF THE PEACEFUL WARRIOR, a recent addition to his portfolio. Writing credits include Sony’s SPIDER-MAN animated series (featuring Neil Patrick Harris), as well as a wide range of theatrical productions across the U.S. He continues to enjoy close collaborations with award-winning and emerging writers and playwrights where together they shepherd new works from page to screen and stage.
At the onset of the pandemic, Todd founded Smartphone Theatre, a pioneering digital performance platform that presented more than 50 original plays to international audiences. These virtual productions featured talent from Broadway and Hollywood and gained recognition for innovation in live digital storytelling.
Todd is one of twelve filmmakers nationwide selected for the TALA Filmmaking Masterclass, presented by the L.A. Jewish Federation. He produced the short film TZEVA ADOM, starring Shani Atias, which was an honored finalist at the Cannes Emerging Filmmaker Showcase in 2018.
WAY OF THE PEACEFUL WARRIOR, the first-ever theatrical interpretation of the best-selling novel, recently enjoyed a one-month run at L.A.'s Odyssey Theatre. The development process included multiple readings featuring a cast led by legendary actor Keith David as “Socrates.”
