M. Todd Felderstein is an award-winning director/writer/producer with credits across media from screen to stage.
Todd has created for Sony, Marvel, MTV along with a long list of independent production houses and is a member of the MPEG, IDA and is a directing member of the Actors Studio while highly active in their Play Development Unit. In 2017/18 Todd directed RESERVATIONS which stars Dale Raoul (HBO's True Blood) which has since won a dozen festivals across the country. That same year he produced TZEVA ADOM which stormed the film festival landscape capturing a large array of "Bests" in a sea of twice as many Official Selections. Among their many accomplishments his team won honors at the 2018 Cannes Film Festival at the American Pavillion's, Emerging Filmmaker Award.
Todd was a writer on the animated TV version of SPIDER-MAN which starred Neil Patrick Harris in the title role and penned The Sword of Shikata along with Morgan Gendel creating a new villain for the Marvel Universe. Immediately following this series Todd traveled to Israel where he directed/produced MAGICS, a documentary surrounding the healing power of laughter in a world divided by politics and historical tensions. One random achievement is his recognition by the Guinness Book of World Records as one of a series of directors behind the award-winning feature film, THE OWNER. Todd has directed an assortment of music videos and music nonfiction for an assortment of Grammy winners and Broadway stars. He remains an active photographer and is on the teaching faculty of the Los Angeles Center of Photography.
When confronted by the global shuttering of live venues in March 2020, Todd founded SMARTPHONE THEATRE which continues to produce new live staged productions with dozens of casts, playwrights and directors, many Emmy and Tony winners, from Broadway to Hollywood. Todd shares the Smartphone Theatre stage with such esteemed directors as (partial): Asaad Kelada, Jonathan Levit, Mitch Levine; playwrights Gena Acosta, Bruce J. Robinson, Joe Keyes, Paul Coates, Eugene Butler; and actors Poetri (Tony winner), Stephen Mendillo (Broadway), Lisa Richards (Broadway), Richard Fancy (Seinfeld), Robert Hays (Airplane!) along with so many others. As 2020 was a very active year in the digital landscape, Todd directed Barry Primus (The Irishman) in his play WHY CAN'T YOU SAY IT for the Theatre of the New City in NYC. He also tech directed SKY by Herb Mendelsohn starring Ed Begley Jr (Young Sheldon) and AMERICAN PORTRAITS by Devon O'Brien with a cast of twelve based in Los Angeles, NYC and London which starred Kate Burton (Grey's Anatomy) and James Tupper (Men in Trees).
